Computers come in all shapes and sizes. There are primarily two main sizes of computers; there are portable and desktop computers.

Although they are very different in size and so forth, the computer components are much the same.

    Which computer components are there?

There are loads of computer components, but the most commonly known are, of course:
The case: with the hardware inside.

Power supply: This computer component comes with the case but can be switched should your computer demand more.

Motherboard: This is where the core computer components reside which are listed below. Also the support cards for video, sound, networking and more are mounted into this board.

Microprocessor – This is the brain of your computer. It performs commands and instructions and controls the operation of the computer.

Memory – The RAM in your system is mounted on the motherboard. This is memory that must be powered on to retain its contents.

Drive controllers – The drive controllers control the interface of your system to your hard drives. The controllers let your hard drives work by controlling their operation. On most systems, they are included on the motherboard; however you may add additional controllers for faster or other types of drives.

Then there are of course the computer components which we all know, the keyboard, mouse and screen which, god bless us, can be acquired in a very thin version.

Which computer components can I switch out without damaging my PC?

You can switch out all your computer components to customize your computer to your preferences, but by doing so you can’t be sure the computer will function proper, and in most cases all warranty is void when removing computer components.
Most people who spend a lot of time playing on they’re computers tend to swap out a lot of computer components to optimize they’re gaming experience, and these computer components can be worth a lot of money.
